Why choose PT first??
I believe everyone should have some kind of healthcare advocate that is proactive about your health. The treatment approach that is used at Centered Physical Therapy allows people to benefit from other modalities concurrently.
•IMPROVES JOINT NUTRITION
•FACILITATES RETURN TO ACTIVITY
Here are some reasons why you SHOULD choose PT FIRST!
WE FOCUS ON THE CORE, THE TRUE CORE
The true core is the diaphragm, which allows you to breathe, shift and move throughout the world in a body that is balanced. The diaphragm is the center of your body and has communication with the nervous system, which allows you to truly heal and change the position of your body. When you hold tension within your body, it complicates movement by recruiting other muscles, joints and movement patterns that are not ideal on your joints. With appropriate freedom, your body can begin to “Breathe itself into alignment.”
The main focus for Centered Physical Therapy is to help compliment your unique goals and allow for maximal healing. The body responds well to physical touch, so allow for true healing in order to maximize your full potential.
MOVEMENT = SAFE FUNCTION
Our bodies are designed to move, shift and breathe freely in any position at any point. Did you know that we take over 20,000 breaths a day! I don’t know if I do anything 20,000 times a day! If we are in a stuck position, then we are just reinforcing our static, stuck positions and not allowing for freedom within our joints.
WE ALL HAVE STRESS
There are physical, emotional and environmental stressors that can accumulate within our body creating excessive tensions. These tensions can feed into your stress and begin to damage your bony structure, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Did you know that the act of exhaling can change the pH in your body? The Diaphragm lives underneath your ribs and spans across your body from the front to the back. With repositioning techniques, we can teach the body how to reposition itself with sensory input that gives the brain a chance to reset. It is a balance between the “fight and flight” and the “rest and digest” that the body needs to live in order to heal fully.
DON’T DO DRUGS
Today we are inundated by the amount of information and options to address our pain, all of which are often surgery or medication. Yes, this could be helpful initially, but it is clearly not the long term solution. We would like to get down to the root cause of your issue and give you lifestyle changes that you can begin to make a positive change that is long lasting.
Be PROACTIVE instead of REACTIVE
